Handmade Art Process Book

For my Book Arts class, I created an art process book documenting the creation of illustrations featuring my character, Honey Locust. Each chapter chronicles the artistic development of a different illustration through process images and written explanations of my techniques and decisions.

I laid out the book using Affinity Publisher on the iPad, then printed each page individually on an Epson P9570 large format printer, carefully color-correcting in Photoshop and using custom paper profiles. Each chapter concluded with a full-page illustration plate printed on fine art paper. Lastly, I hand-cut, assembled, and perfect-bound the final book.

This project fulfilled a long-held goal of learning high-quality print production for my illustrations, while also serving as a reflection on years of artistic growth.
