Lime Planner

A mock cooking app design created to help users follow healthy, well-organized, and successful eating routines.

In our UX/UI class at NYU, my team and I were tasked with designing a cooking app. Through our market research, we discovered that most food-related apps either focus solely on recipes or aid users in meal planning & serve organizational functions. We aimed to merge these two aspects to create a holistic cooking experience.

Our design process was a true team effort—all important design decisions were made collaboratively, while tasks of creation, such as design mock-ups and documentation were delegated for individual completion. My responsibilities included:

SOLO

User Journey Mapping
Created a user journey mock-up for our team experience following a recipe on the NYT Cooking app.

Wireframing
Designed low-fidelity wireframes, refining them through group feedback sessions.

Onboarding Quiz Design
Led the design of the onboarding quiz, aligning with the team on design principles.

High-Fidelity Mock-Up Creation
Created the final high-fidelity mock-up for the onboarding quiz, as well as edited all mock-ups to align with design system.

Storyboarding and Sketching
Developed storyboards and initial sketches for user flow concepts based on our persona.

Sitemapping
Created a flowchart showing the projected userflows of our app.

TEAM

Facilitating Team Meetings
Hosted weekly team meetings to make design decisions collaboratively and delegate tasks.

User and Market Research
Explored existing niches in the cooking app space and sought-after features, and tested apps to gain insights into user experience.

Design Material Definition
Helped define design materials to ensure visual consistency across the project.

Persona Development
Collaborated on user persona ideation to identify core audience needs.

Pitch Presentation and Storytelling
Presented the final design via a rehearsed pitch and slide deck to convey our vision.
